Secondary Education
After my experience as an English language assistant (TESOL) in public primary schools in Barcelona, Spain, I was accepted at Boise State University for graduate studies in education. I began courses in the summer of 2010 that would lead to certification and licensure in English and Spanish secondary education. The teaching experiences that followed are listed below, with the most recent experience first.
Clarke County School District: Spanish Teacher
2012-2013
For the 2012-13 academic year, I began work in the Clarke County School District in Athens, GA at Burney Harris Lyons, a Title I Middle School. While at this International Baccalaureate candidate school, I created five curricula from the ground up and taught 11 different classes of students in three different grade levels - 6, 7, 8. What a fast-paced year!
Meridian Joint 2 School District: English Teacher
2011-2012
I also had the privilege of working with the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth! During the summer of 2011 I joined the small team as an English Teaching Assistant in an essay writing course. Click below for more information.
